The 4th of July is here again. Last year at this time I was in Nebraska on my way to Colorado. Two days before that I had no idea I was going to end up taking that trip.

This year does not look like it’s going to live up to last year’s standard. Whil e I spend a lot of time blaming myself (perhaps rightfully, I still don’t have a car), I feel like taking this moment to say if I had different people to plan events with there would be nothing to worry about. Unfortunately, I seem to have found myself in a circumstance where I just can’t find fulfillment in my routine. Thankfully I am working hard to change that routine.

Seeing old friends last weekend definitely had a surprisingly simple but deep impact on my outlook toward how I run my life. I’m excited to spend the summer with these people.

I have a lot of things to consider in the coming months. I will have two opportunities to leave Minnesota in the coming months. Both opportunities will be extended (2-3 months) journeys across the United States. These journeys are the sort where you just have to throw caution to the wind and let things flow. Make what preparations you can and hang on tight type of thing. Though one could make the case that holding on tight is the antithesis of the trips’ objectives. More thinking required.

What is everyone planning on doing for the fourth??? I am going to hang out with the family and then go see Elvis Costello for 10$ at the Taste of Minnesota. I wouldn’t mind hearing what you have planned for the 4th so feel free to comment!

Wish we would have seen you at Spencer’s place on the fourth! Anyway, there seem to be more and more opportunities to hang out this summer, so you’ll have to start taking part. Too bad you couldn’t make it out with us last night to work on Spencer’s Jeep audio project. It was the type of handyman work I thought you’d have enjoyed.

I’ll definitely be hanging out in your company this summer if I have a say in it. We’ll toss a disc soon.
